Hey guys, I thought maybe I squeeze in one winter-themed photo just in time for the end of Winter. The outfit featured in this post comes from Wicca’s Wardrobe, a really elegant and pretty set released for this month’s On9 event. Also available at the event are this beautiful pair of belted heels from the same designer.
I styled the look with a vintage-y hairstyle to fit with the vintage feel I got from the outfit, as well as a leather bag from KEEM for the Tres Chic event, which is sadly unavailable anymore, but the new round of Tres Chic is open! I also added a warm drink (cos everyone needs one in the winter) from VALE KOER for the Shiny Shabby event, and this one is a freebie, so head on down quick to grab them! Lots of other designers have put out freebies too, well, almost all designers so have fun shopping.
We’re heading into Spring next, and it’s gonna be an exciting season!
Love, Kai

Hey guys, today’s post is all about this Countess headpiece by Wicca’s Wardrobe, which has a very Asian look to it, be it Japanese or Chinese. The good thing is that it doesn’t have a specific look to it, so if you have an Oriental-themed shoot, this headpiece will be a great accessory. This look is rather simple and I was going for a more Japanese-themed shoot, so I accessorized it with the hand fan from Silvery K, a group gift from one of the underrated Japanese designers in my opinion. Do check out the Silvery K store when you can, there are numerous group gifts and also beautiful clothes to get for yourself, or for someone special this Christmas!

Hi everyone! I’ve got another closeup shot for you guys, and this time it’s to show off the extravagant and ginormous Antoinette hat by Wicca’s Wardrobe. I loved how mysterious the hat looked on me so I styled myself accordingly.
Initially I envisioned myself as a vampire after putting on this hairstyle by lamb., a Hair Fair gift, which you might be able to find at her store. I matched it with a deep shade of red lipstick by Glam Affair for the LeLutka mesh head. I had fangs on, but I decided to take them off as they were too cheesy, and slightly in-your-face. I approached it with another perspective, which was to go for a slightly more dominatrix look, which was why I completed the look with the Bastet harness, a rare item from the gacha at Pixicat. The items from the gacha are amazing, and so are the items that Pixicat sells so for those of you who haven’t been there, you should definitely take a look!

I love doing closeups. I get to show more detailed items to you guys like accessories and makeup much clearly than in full body shots.
This time I bring to you the Plava headpiece by Wicca’s Wardrobe. This headpiece is especially great for avant garde looks and it also comes in silver. The makeup is another one of the choices you get from the Nuuna LeLutka applier makeup set hud and it isn’t what I would normally wear but it was perfect for this look. I decided to match the headpiece with the jewelry from Elysium, the Oriental Delight set, which comes with earrings and a beautiful necklace. There are different precious stone options, including amber, ivory and onyx. In this photo, I’m featuring the ruby version.
One thing I would have wanted to fix though was the error on the right earring. So sorry for this mistake, but I hope you guys like the photo nonetheless!
Love, Kai

Hey everyone, I’m back after a little break with my most modern chic look yet. It might sound like I’m praising myself, but I don’t think I’ve done lots of modern chic looks and this by far is definitely my favorite look. Come to think of it, it might also be because I’ve picked out the clothing ensemble for a styling competition once so I feel strongly for it haha.
Anyways I shall shall start with the top, the Cheeky top by Pixicat. The fabric patterns and colors are grouped into similar colors and released in different huds, so when you buy a specific color you’re also getting a few other colors in one, which is rather worth it! The same goes for the Lula pants from GizzA, they come in different fabric types, and this one I’m wearing is the leather pack. Since the colors of both the top and pants were rather neutral, I picked a neutral latte-colored blazer from Emery to complete the look.
Accessories also come in neutral tones, from the nude sandals by 1992 to the brown Byron hat, a menswear release from Elysium. The glasses I’m wearing are from Wicca’s Wardrobe, and they’re called the Kai glasses. And yes, true to what you might be thinking, it was named after me because Wicca was naming her glasses when I joined her blogger’s group haha. I’m so honored, thank you so much, Wicca!
I kept the lips matte and in a slightly darker shade of red to complement the look, and the lipstick comes from Shakeup!. The minimalist necklace comes from Secret Love, and is a group gift available for grabs!
I have a few more looks coming out before the end of November so please do check back soon!
Love, Kai

#93 – Unholy

I thought I’d try to squeeze in one last post before Halloween so this here, is my last post for October. The inspiration for this look was something evil or demonic juxtaposed against something clean, proper and holy. In this case it was the Abaddon mask from Wicca’s Wardrobe which provided the demonic aspect and having it photographed at a temple or shrine, which is a place that is associated with holiness and good.
Even the look itself is a contradicting idea in itself. The Malignant dress, from Pixicat for Collabor88, and amazing one indeed, is one that is extremely provocative, definitely not something you’ll wear to a church or a temple. I mean, just look at the chest area, if that isn’t provocative, I don’t know what that is. Thank goodness for the fake hands, otherwise this photo would be considered nudity, and I think even with this photo it might just already be bordering on nudity. I picked the white version because that would contradict the look of the dress, and with white usually associated with purity, the dress itself could be seen as both holy and unholy at the same time.
So, with a dress like that, and the mask, I asked for a holy place for photography to really create that contrast between good and evil (though the lines are kinda blurry). The pose was in contrast to the outfit, something soft and gentle, with the idea of me rising out of the water to approach the shrine, perhaps trying to challenge whether evil could enter the sanctuary of holiness and good. With that, Jackson also created the photo with a hint of iconic imagery in terms of lighting and atmosphere, and that’s how we got the photo.
I admit that this is the photo we’ve done so far that juxtaposed opposing ideas so much within one shot, and it wouldn’t have been obvious if I didn’t explain the concept of the photo. I’m rather proud of this and I hope you guys like it.
With that, happy Halloween and have a great one this year! See you soon!
Love, Kai

#92 – Apocalypse Now

Halloween season is proving to be really fun for me. I get the chance to dress up as different characters and in different styles, sometimes not in the style I would usually go for. But I take that as sort of a little lesson, on how styling myself in a certain way out of my comfort zone can help me learn more and open myself out more to the other genres.
This post was greatly influenced by one of my favorite movies this year, the over-the-top action movie, Mad Max: Fury Road, which also served as inspiration for one part of this collection released by Wicca’s Wardrobe for Halloween. I guess the idea really stuck in my head after knowing about Wicca’s inspiration so I took it and ran with it. Her pieces are named after horror movies, or characters in famous horror movies (though there are exceptions), so see if you can spot the references in her collection!
The Paige top and the Carrie skirt come from two different outfits but are both released at BOSL Fall/Winter Fashion Week 2015, together with the Psycho armpieces, while the Seska headpiece is a release for the Fantasy Collective of October. Do be sure to check them both out if you’re interested!
I love how imaginative the pieces are and that pushes me to style myself in a non-conventional way, which was quite difficult, I must admit. I spent a whole lot of time thinking about the right hairstyle to use and in the end I settled with the Viking hair from Tableau Vivant, under the category of Fantasy/Roleplay hairstyles. Once again, that aisle is not someplace I would usually go if not for this shoot so I’m rather thankful.
The makeup was rather simple and was decided upon the quickest. Like I said, I was rather inspired by Mad Max: Fury Road so I knew what makeup I wanted and thank goodness Nuuna has them.
Halloween is just around the corner! I’m so excited and I can’t wait for the day to arrive! Till then, take care!
Love, Kai
